Raccoon Lodge: Dive Bar. 59 Warren @ W-Bway; 19/13/I; On the southern edge of TriBeCa, this dive features very cool, friendly bartenders and dirt cheap drinks in a dive setting; Crazy décor; Pool tables; Actually attracts a mixed crowd.  Been around for years – solid. 

  
PJ Clarke’s: Pub. 4 World Financial Center;  21/20/M; Owned by actor Timothy Hutton; Absolutely outstanding burgers, large seafood raw bar menu; Newly renovated;  Classy pub with great after work crowd-massive outdoor seating area in summer; Comfortable and cool vibe. Old New York feel;  NYC Institution. 
 
Killarney RoseIrish Pub. 127 Pearl St @ Hanover Sq; 23/20/M; Awesome Place; Dirt cheap house draft; Great food- especially the wings; 2 levels; Happy Hour/ After work bar. Welcoming feel with friendly bartenders; Wed = live music.  Non-corporate scene refreshing for area. Buy-backs. 
 
Iron Horse NYC: Dive Bar. 32 Cliff Street @ Fulton-John; 22/15/M; Happy Hour
 
Jeremy’s Ale House: Dive Bar. 228 Front St @ Peck Slip; 19/11/I; Total Dive spot; Drink huge selection of beers in massive Styrofoam cups or bottles; Great, cheap food; Very popular; Cheap wings; TVs; Hours- 8am-midnight. Outdoor area; Donkey Kong.
 
Nelson Blue: Pub. 233 Front St @ Peck Slip; 22/20/M; NYC’s first New Zealand Bar and Grill; Very cool décor, trendy appeal; Excellent full menu – including brunch; Bar scene and after work spot in addition to dining. Splurge on lamb chops; People watching ideal on nice days. 
 

Keg No 229: Beer Bar. 229 Front St @ Peck Slip; 23/20/M; Besides a very attracting setting and stylish décor, the draw here is the self-service taps (4 of them) where you pay by the ounce. Wonderful area in the summer so this is just an idea spot to take a break and enjoy a beer. Brunch served with a free drink. 

 
Ulysses: Irish Pub. 95 Pearl St @ Hanover Sq; 22/19/M; Owners of Puck Fair;  Huge after work crowd; Easily the best happy hour bar in Lower Manhattan; Singles scene; Yuppy scene; Good pub food. Private parties.  Nice pints of Guinness and other beers.  Good food.  Lots of office parties here.  
 

Stone Street Tavern: Irish Pub.  52 Stone St @ Hanover Sq;  18/18/M; Small tavern – very clean and comfortable; Nice pit stop on way to the Seaport;  Popular for lunch and weekend brunch;  Near Ulysses in case you need another option. Solid service.

 

Full Shilling: Irish Pub. 160 Pearl St @ Wall-Pine; 17/15/M; Happening after work spot for Wall St crowd; Very good food- burgers & Cobb salad; Large number of beers on tap; Happy Hour scene. Nothing special late at night or weekends. 

 

Dead Rabbit Grocery & Grog Shop: Cocktail Bar. 30 Water Street @ Broad; 26/23/E; Gorgeous new speakeasy cocktail bar; Sit-down parlor level and a taproom in the lower level;  75+ mixed drinks to choose from in their drink menu ($14 each or so);  Excellent nibbles and bar food; Expert bartenders; Highly rated even nationally; Perfect date spot; No Rez; Beautiful inside; Ideal after fun at the Seaport.

 

Pound & Pence: English Pub. 55 Liberty @ Maiden Ln; 20/18/M;  Authentic feel; Darts Mondays; Ladies Night Wednesdays; Classic wood décor; Stylish; Happy Hour; Great after work spot. Separate dining room to eat; Pool table; Private parties. Wall street regulars. English style comes through. 5-8pm Happy hour. 

 

Apotheke: Lounge. 9 Doyers St @ Chathan Sq. Chinatown near Financial; 25/24/VE; Staffers in white lab coats serve unbelievable ‘cool’, fancy mixed drinks; Drinks rumored to have magical powers; That being said – ultra cool décor and worth a trip; High quality drinks; Basically a speakeasy.
